Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the pay rate?
Most virtual medical assistant roles start at $7/hour. Rates may vary depending on the role and level of experience.
Is the salary paid weekly or bi-weekly?
Salary is paid bi-weekly. Payments are always on time — and in some cases, released earlier than scheduled. Never later.
What time is the shift?
All clients are U.S.-based, so shifts follow U.S. business hours. Your exact schedule depends on your client’s time zone (EST, CST, MST, or PST). Night shifts in Philippine time are standard.
What happens if my client leaves Portiva?
If a client partnership ends for reasons unrelated to your performance, policy violations, or agreement breaches you are placed back into the pipeline for re-endorsement to another client. Portiva does not drop good people.
Are there health benefits?
Currently, Portiva does not offer HMO or health benefits. VAs are engaged as independent contractors and are responsible for managing their own SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG contributions.
Do you use screen monitoring software?
Yes. Portiva uses Hubstaff for time tracking. This also serves as the basis for payroll, ensuring accurate and transparent compensation for your logged working hours.
Is there an assessment? How long does it take?
Yes. The assessment evaluates your competency and role-specific skills. It takes no more than 1.5 hours. It is focused, relevant, and designed to match you with the right role.
Is this a voice or non-voice role?
All positions involve some voice work. Front-end roles like reception and patient coordination are more voice-heavy. Back-end roles like billing and authorizations involve minimal voice interaction.
